Escada was founded in 1978 by Margaretha and Wolfgang Ley in Munich, Germany. Being a former model and having a solid education in tailoring from the Royal Court in Stockholm, Margaretha Ley became known for her bold, feminine designs. 1978 saw the first presentation of the Escada womenswear collection, which featured exquisite inlays and appliqués. The company soon stood out, with its distinctive creations featuring unusual combinations of colors and patterns, exclusive embroidery, and elaborately designed knitted fashions. Escada saw a rapid upswing and continually extended its collections and its creative work.
In the course of its international expansion, Escada SE went public in 1986. In 1994 the company launched the Escada Sport label, established its own accessories collection including bags and shoes and granted major licenses, collaborating with such partners as Procter & Gamble.
In 2007, the artist Stefan Szczesny created a new Escada collection in Saint-Tropez, France. Since July 2008, Bruno Sälzer was the acting CEO with responsibilities for design, marketing, and sales.
In 2009, Escada sold its subsidiary Primera AG, based in Münster, Westphalia which comprised the brands apriori, cavita, and Laurèl, as well as BiBA. On August 11, 2009, Escada filed insolvency at Munich Local Court, as an exchange offer for the outstanding bonds of €200 million was not accepted by the necessary 80% of all bond holders. In November 2009, it was acquired by India's London-based billionaire Lakshmi Mittal, whose daughter-in-law, Megha Mittal, is the owner and Director of the Board. She is married to Aditya Mittal.
On 20 February 2014, according to Women's Wear Daily, Bruno Sälzer will step down as CEO of Escada by December 2014.
On September 1, 2016 Iris Epple-Righi joined as the CEO of Escada after 13 years with Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger.
Niall Sloan joined Escada as the Global Design Director on August 1, 2017 after designing for luxury label Burberry and Hunter.

All our items are guaranteed authentic pre-loved or new pieces and carefully curated before listing them.
You still have two weeks to send back your newly purchased item; we will refund you precisely what you paid at the checkout.
Picture Quality: Atrium Anna is proud of not using stock or photoshopped, white-out images for our listings. We wish to show you exactly what you will get with no hideouts!
Please consider that pictures or description might not reflect entirely the actual condition or that they might be not complete. However, they are as close as it is possible.
Condition and Size:
We provide the size described in the tag if available. We also take measurements and provide a size picture within each listing that serve as an approximate understanding of the item. Please make sure to study these images carefully before buying.
All our items are either new or gently worn pre-loved items from a smoke-free environment. However, when buying them, please read the description carefully; we like vintage items (min. 20 years old) and they cannot be expected to be in a condition as a new or newer item would be. Our items are clean, washed, and/or sanitized or drycleaned but, we love dogs and we suggest that you professionally wash your item before wearing it if you are allergic to them.
Within vintage or pre-loved, each item's condition can be different and can be scaled using the following guide:
New with tags or new in box (NWT or NWB): Pristine, never used condition. Tags are still attached.
New without tags or new with no box (NWOT or NWOB): No wear the item. Never used condition but without tags.
Excellent: Gently used pre-loved. Only slight signs of wear. Does not diminish the overall appearance of the item.
Very good: Well-maintained. Shows minor signs of wear that are consistent with light use.
Good: Shows signs of regular use but no significant flaws.
Fair: Show signs of regular use with additional imperfections such as holes, stains, ribs, etc.
Returns and Refund Policies:
Returns and refund requests are received two weeks within delivery for any reason. Buyer is responsible for sending back item first in its original condition. The seller then is responsible for refunding item's final price. Please note that in order to be refunded, you must initiate your return requests no later than within 14 days from delivery and the item needs to be exactly in the same condition as you received it. If this is not fulfilled, we are unable to send you a refund. We don't take responsibility for mistakes made by courier service such as delays, loss, damage, etc.
Finally, your positive feedback is highly appreciated. We do not exist without your support!
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us, and we will be happy to accommodate your need if we can. Thank you very much and happy shopping!
