MIX & MATCH, 2023
MIX & MATCH, 2023
These mix & match pictures in my bathroom are my attempts to style this fun faux-fur mini skirt by Moschino. The base is the same for both styles: a white cotton button-down poet shirt from Burberry. In the first style, I paired this with a vintage Iceberg faux-fur hoodie jacket, a white vintage Gucci purse, and white patent-leather vintage Fendi boots.
The second style is a black velvet-stitched jacket, a vintage Yves Saint Laurent, and the black leather riding boots are from Burberry.
This was a fun summer day when I styled this cotton white shirt dress found in the local thrift store by Calvin Klein. I feel that it's perfect with my vintage Gucci bamboo flats and also a vintage summer purse by GFF. For the evening, I just threw this denim jacket on me from Y2K Abercrombie & Fitch, and that was it. The dress came alive again and created some nice memories for the person who wore it.
VARIATIONS on a cotton shirt dress
This khaki color cotton shirt dress is already an amazing piece by itself. It's a vintage piece (what else?) from Courreges from Paris, France. It's extra light but has all these buttons and pockets that make it super fun and practical, yet it remains on the feminine side. Here are the different looks:
The dress simply styled with a vintage Prada patent leather platform sandals.
I added a leather belt - vintage by Ralph Lauren - , a black tote and a vintage Hermes man's necktie. The look became a bit more edgy.
I replaced the shoes with vintage Prada green patent leather heels and added a vintage blazer - also in green tones. We are going towards classic look but still with an edge.
For a change and to soften the style, the heels were replaced to a another vintage heels, a pair or white patent leather by Versace. Notice the shiny blue ankle socks from Italy! Then added a little white cotton blazer jacket, also vintage from Iceberg, white vintage Gucci purse and a scarf around my neck from Tory Burch.
This became a winter variation with the faux-fur coat from DKNY, the white and black cotton scarf and the vintage white patent leather Fendi boots.
Here I went to the extreme; I added a pair of cropped jeans that is normally so difficult to style. The platform sandals atre from Dr. Martens, and the silver blazer is vintage Fendi. And I wear a vintage silk Hermes scarf for a final straw and confusion.
Then for a summer night, you can leave the cropped jeans on but have a pair of espadrilles to lighten the look and throw a mariners sweater around your shoulder and wear black vintage sunglasses, like this Fendi from the 90s. To be on the practical side, finish the look with a backpack. Mine is a vintage Alexander Wang.
And finally, a cropped jeans with a crop top and the dress became a coat. I also added a vintage Bill Blass vest on it and changed my shoes to a platform patent leather Mary Janes from Dr. Martens.
